While I likely will not take many Milky Way images as compared to all of the other imaging I do throughout the year, I am too amazed by every stunning Milky Way core picture I see to not give it a shot myself from time to time.

(CROPPED and ROTATED VERSION) This was my first test of a Milky Way image. Shot with a Rokinon 14mm lens via a ASI533MC-Pro camera from my Orion Sirius mount, I think it came out fairly well. It is composed of 10x 5-minute subs using an Astronomik CLS-CCD filter.
